Grandma’s Easy Chocolate No-Bake Cookies

This recipe has been in my family for years and still enjoyed by grandkids and adults alike. We called them brownies growing up, but they are actually very delicious, easy to make macaroons. Enjoy!

1/2 cup milk

6 tablespoons of the darkest cocoa you can buy

2 cups of white sugar

1/2 cup margarine or butter (try Becel)

Put above ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat at once.

3 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats (dried oatmeal, not the quick cooking kind)

1 cup of shredded semi-sweet or sweetened coconut (make sure it is the larger shredded kind and not the fine processed kind)

1 cup of raisins (optional)

Stir the above ingredients into the hot sauce mixture above. Once it is well mixed drop onto cookie sheets or waxed paper and let set (overnight if possible). Enjoy! These may be frozen as well and enjoyed right from the freezer.

No bake? Wow! I could do this and with all the good ingredients - and then you don't bake and destroy the nutrients. This sounds good.

I'll bookmark this. It's going to be a fat winter here in NYC.

Thank you for the recipe!
